Acorn: Forest Bridge

Support this project

Building a forest bridge to connect…

We’ve commissioned the design of a stunning connecting bridge which will sit at the boundary of the Founders Field. The bridge will connect the two core areas of Co-forest:Acorn, crossing a Somerset rhyne (small watercourse) and providing a beautiful transition through the forest. The bridge will be a timber construction in the shape of an hourglass form when viewed from above and consisting of narrow hardwood slats.

Why are we doing it?

Practically, it’ll make the transport of tools and equipment around the forest significantly quicker and will allow our guests and volunteers to ‘pop’ to the loo rather than hiking around the 10 acre site to the facilities. Whilst a natural forest can only be so accessible, we also hope that this connection will allow greater use of the permissive pathways we’re creating throughout the site.
