Creating a forest shelter providing space to grow
What is it?
Ever since Co-forest: Acorn was imagined we’ve wanted to bring an Ecoshelter to the site. Knowing that our trusty horse lorry would only serve as a temporary home, and would ultimately be moving on to the next Co-forest site, we set out to replace it with a fitting structure to ensure guests and volunteers of the future have somewhere to call their woodland home.
Why are we doing it?
The Ecoshelter will not only provide storage for staple tree-planting materials, but a retreat from the British winter weather, come rain or shine (on those rare occasions). Our vision is that this space will encourage local school and community groups to use the site and think of it as their own. It’ll also be the space that our corporate partners can use if they pop down for a team volunteering day.
