Acorn: Forest Bridge
Completed project
A new connection

What is it?
The forest bridge we commissioned at Co-forest: Acorn is now complete. This timber structure spans a Somerset rhyne (small watercourse) at the boundary of Founders Field, connecting the two core areas of the forest. Designed in an elegant hourglass shape with narrow hardwood slats, it provides a beautiful and functional transition through the woodland.

Why did we do it?
The bridge makes moving tools and equipment across the forest much easier and allows volunteers and visitors to access facilities without trekking across the full 10-acre site. While the forest retains its natural character, the bridge also enhances the usability of the permissive pathways, making the woodland more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
